| Comments: | I have really enjoyed your website. I have three Westies of my own, 2 girls, 1 boy. I am beginning my adventure into becoming a breeder. I really love Westies and want to raise babies in a loving home environment for future owners. In the area I live in, very rarely do you see ads for Westies. When I have had my first two at Pet Supermarkets, I have had quite a few inquiries as to whether I was a breeder or not from people seeking one. I have found a really good stud for my gal in a city about an 1 1/2 hr. away. His name is Bogey and my gal is Zoey. They have already met one another and I think they will be good together. She had her first heat in January, she was 8 1/2 months so I am not sure if she will get regulated to six months, if so we may have our first litter in the fall. I am very excited about becoming a breeder. |

Our Westie, Fraoch (which in Gaelic means Heather and in Irish Galic means fierce warrior and believe me, both names fit aptly!)is just over 6 months old. It's really hard to believe that something so small could contain such a huge personality! Anyone using thos page as research for dog ownership, don't be swayed by any other breed, the Westie is the King of dogs. One of the most often used phrases in our house these days is "She makes me smile". To buy a puppy from any breederas caring and enthusiastic as Blossom sounds can only be a hugely fulfilling experience! |

I love the spunk in terriers' temperament. A neighbour has a Westie and I've really fallen for her (the dog, that is). I'm feeling somewhat "disloyal" for considering "another" breed of terrier.... yet I think a Westie would be a refreshing change for me and my partner. I hear they can be stubborn, but so can I! i would like to know more about their personality trends (i.e., temperament). i also found that there are NOT many/any(?) It always was our intent to add a little male to our family (Clyde) and we are now in the process of looking. We have read up on the Westie and find that it is very similar in nature to the Havanese. Don't know whether they would tolerate each other though. Any thoughts? |
